About Us

The Orchid Society of Greater St. Louis (OSOGSL) was founded in January of 1951 with the purpose of promoting interest in orchids and distributing information on the culture, development, and hybridization of orchids.

Programs are related to growing and caring for orchids and include speakers, plant clinics, and show tables for the display of members’ plants. Orchid shows, culture classes, and greenhouse tours are held periodically. The society also maintains a library for members’ use.

Meetings & Events

Meetings are held on the second Friday of each month (excluding July & August) at 7:00 pm at the Commerce Bank Center for Science Education (CBEC), 4651 Shaw Blvd., St. Louis, MO, 63110. The December meeting has an earlier start time.

Visitors are always welcome! Meetings are also presented on YouTube for those who cannot make the in-person meetings. Invites are sent to those members by email.

In addition to our monthly meetings we also have special events. These include our Annual Show and Sale (Feb 1-2, 2025) and Annual Auction (Aug 15, 2025).
